Pug - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - Bosley
Description
Bosley (# 559) is a 5 year old puggle (pug & beagle mix). He is very spoiled and loves being on the couch beside his foster dad while watching TV. His favorite past time is cuddling and he simply cannot get close enough to people. He craves affection. He is good with other dogs, but can be protective of his food and toyseven if he isnt playing with them at that moment. He likes chewing on Nyla bones, but does seem to lose interest after just a few minutes. He is also housebroken and crate trained. This snuggle puggle loves to bury his head in his blankets. He also enjoys playing with small stuffed toys. At night he sleeps in a baby playpen with his head buried in his blankets cuddled up next to his stuffed monkey and bear. The playpen is located in his foster parent's room and he sleep throughout the entire night without making a sound. Bosley does have a Neuro Muscular condition. He is a special needs dog and while he may need assistance to do the things that other dogs take for granted, he wants the same things in life as all other dogs: love, companionship, and affection. Can you look past his disability and recognize his potential as a valuable, loving member of your family? Bosley doesn't realize he is different than most dogs and wakes up each morning happy and wagging his tail. He needs someone to show him every day just how very special he is. Giving him lots of love and the special care needed will do just that. Because of his condition, this incredibly sweet pug mix will need to be kept in a padded crate or small carpeted area to protect him from falling and injuring himself. His legs are very strong and he can walk, but needs help. He seems to do fine with his front legs, but has little control over his back ones. He wobbles and will fall down, but does best when held up by his harness to give him more support and is then able to go potty. He cannot be allowed to try and walk by himself even on a leash because he will fall and might injure himself. His foster family has been taking him to see holistic vets and neurologists. The vet has seen this same health problem in another dog that lived to be 13 years old and so his foster family is very hopeful for his future. While there is no cure for his condition, there are a variety of treatment options available. Currently his foster family is just trying to find the best treatment methods to calm Bosleys system and help him control his condition so that he can live a long and happy life. Are you that special someone who could make Bosleys wish for a forever home come true? Adoption Donation: $125 Click here to fill out an adoption application. KPR can NOT answer any questions about a Pug until you have an approved application on file. This is due to the high volume of inquiries we receive. We are all volunteers who are very busy rescuing, caring for and transporting the rescued Pugs. We do NOT have a central facility where you can visit our rescued Pugs. Our Pugs live in foster homes, where they are observed, evaluated and cared for until we find their ideal adoptive family. KPR serves the states of Kentucky and Indiana. ( Permit No. P08-001703 ) If you are outside of those states, please feel free to visit Pug Rescue Links for a rescue that serves your area. An Adoption Application must be completed before you can be considered as an adoptive home for any Pug...there are no exceptions. The adoption application helps us assist you in finding the perfect Pug for your family. If there is a particular Pug you are interested in, you may make a note of that on the Adoption Application. All Pugs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on routine vaccinations, Fecal tested, and Heartworm Negative prior to placement. Our Adoption Donation fees, although they do not completely cover these costs, do help. Also, although we do provide the medical treatment and testing listed above before a pug is adopted...please remember, as all our Pugs are rescues, there is NO guarantee of physical condition.
